We officially opened the new UNESCO Global Geopark offices at the Basaltic Prisms Interpretation Center
The Management Unit of the Comarca Minera Geopark continues to drive initiatives for the conservation, popularization, and enhancement of geological, natural, and cultural heritage. As part of this effort, the Geopark’s new offices were unveiled this morning, informative panels were delivered to various geosites, and new Proud Partners were officially recognized. The Geopark Management Unit—alongside Roberto Moncayo Morales, Eng., President of the Basaltic Prisms Tourist Association and administrator of the Basaltic Prisms Geosite, and Herminia Moncayo Morales, the comisariada of Santa María Regla—welcomed Dr. José Luis Macías Vázquez, Director of the UNAM Institute of Geophysics; ejidatarios in charge of the San Miguel Regla-Bosque de las Truchas and Peña del Aire geosites; Geopark Guardians; the new Proud Partners; and Rodrigo Fragoso, Director of Tourism for Huasca de Ocampo.
