During a meeting with Martha Belem Oliver González, the Constitutional Municipal President of Singuilucan, the foundations for a collaboration agreement to implement activities in the municipality were analyzed. Solid Waste Management Program, Zero Waste. Water origin, use, and waste to reduce contamination. Recognition and inventory of local cultural heritage for its preservation, care, and protection. Science for Children with workshops and expositions. Promotion of reading. Inclusion in the municipality. Gender equity in the municipality. Risk analysis and prevention activities at the Omitlán Geosites. Geosite proposal: Historic Center of Omitlán de Juárez Visit to the Institute of Geophysics and the National Seismological Service.
The UNESCO Global Geopark Comarca Minera and the ICATHI strengthen their partnership to achieve shared goals
We are working on a collaboration agreement with ICATHI to instruct the managers of the Huasca de Ocampo geosites, train local Geoguides, and promote the programs Zero Waste, Water Conservation, and Risk Prevention.

From the UNESCO Global Geopark Comarca Minera, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the elementary schools, middle schools, telesecundarias, telesecundarias, Telebachillerato Comunitario, and CECyTE Omitlán, as well as their administrators, teachers, and parents, for opening the doors of their educational communities to us. Thank you for allowing us to share with your students the objectives of the Geopark and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, through the support of the Geopark team and the Geopark Guardians of Mineral del Chico and Omitlán de Juárez. CLAUSURA DE CURSOS PARA MUJERES
El pasado miércoles 3 de enero, se celebró en el centro cultural Geoparque Comarca Minera Hidalgo, la clausura de dos cursos dirigidos a mujeres, que el IHM, aliado del geoparque, impartió durante seis semanas. El objetivo de estos cursos es dar a las mujeres, herramientas de desarrollo, que puedan convertir en un emprendimiento laboral; en este caso se impartieron clases de elaboración de gelatinas artísticas, y de, mermeladas y dulces típicos. A los cursos acudieron más de cuarenta mujeres, y en el evento de clausura estuvieron presentes: la licenciada Bertha Miranda, directora del IHM, el doctor Giovanny Sosa, secretario académico del Instituto de Geofísica de la UNAM, el doctor Juan Carlos Mora, fundador del geoparque Comarca Minera Hidalgo, y responsable científico del geoparque, así como amigos y familiares de las participantes al curso.
