Through a partnership between the Hidalgo Women’s Institute (IHM), the Comarca Minera UNESCO Global Geopark, and women from the San Pedro Huixotitla *ejido* (communal landholding) in Epazoyucan, a self-employment workshop for women was held at the El Guajolote Geosite.
During the event, Alma Delia Hernández—the current *comisariada* (representative) of the *ejido*—led a workshop on making Christmas wreaths, sharing techniques for repurposing recycled materials into useful, decorative creations.
Women from communities within the Geopark are participating, fostering learning, creativity, and the development of skills that can be turned into self-employment opportunities.
Learning, creating, and transforming also open up new possibilities.
Thank you to Alma Delia Hernández and all the participants for making this activity possible.
