Geoparque Comarca Minera Hidalgo

Virtual Geopark

The Virtual Tour of the UNESCO Global Geopark Comarca Minera Geosites is a digital tool that allows anyone, anywhere, to experience the geological, natural, and cultural richness that defines this UNESCO-recognized territory.

Through this platform, visitors, students, researchers, and the general public can take an interactive journey through the geosites that make up the Comarca Minera Geopark, exploring their landscapes, geological features, history, and heritage value.

Each geosite offers a window into the region’s geological past, where it is possible to appreciate how volcanic activity from millions of years ago gave rise to majestic natural formations and an environment shaped by human activity over time.

These geosites allow us to understand these natural and historical processes, standing out for their geological, natural, cultural, and scientific interest, and becoming key spaces for interpreting the territory’s heritage.

Furthermore, this tool seeks to strengthen scientific outreach and geological education, contributing to raising awareness about the importance of conserving and valuing our geo-heritage.

Explore the geosites, learn their history, and discover Comarca Minera—a territory that tells the history of the Earth.
