CHILDHOOD GEOEDUCATION

In the Comarca Minera Geopark, formal, non-formal and informal geo-education activities were carried out, through virtual and on-site sessions in the different geosites, schools, auditoriums and squares of the municipalities of the geopark.

To develop interest in science, stimulate a connection with the natural and geological environment where they live, through meaningful learning, two programs were structured: Science for children and the Children’s Geopark Program. Both strategies invite girls and boys to take care of the environment, to read, to paint, to get to know the geopark, to identify their roots and culture, and to disseminate basic science in subjects such as Geology, Ecology and Humanities. These activities are reinforced with the promotion of reading, the creation and free distribution of digital books.

Lúa is a cloth doll, sewn in Real del Monte, in the Muñecas Leyo workshop, by Andrea Rivera.

María Ruiz is a writer and lover of animals and nature. Both guide childhoods through the wonderful world of letters.

We invite you to meet Lua and María Ruiz on their official site.
