Singuilucan

Located in Singuilucan, southeast of the Comarca Minera, this area mainly shows volcanic structures of basic composition. These volcanic structures are composed mostly of basic materials. It includes two monogenetic volcanoes, La Paila and El Molcajete, and a cinereous cone called El Tepetongo, formed by slag deposits and lava flows mostly of andesitic composition. To the south there are boiler structures that, together with the three mentioned formations, are part of the Chichinautzin volcanic series, contemporary to the eruptions of Cerro de San Cristóbal in the Pliocene.
The area includes three monogenetic volcanoes, La Paila, El Molcajete and El Tepetongo. These structures are composed of lava flows, slag and ash deposits of basaltic and andesitic composition.
In the forest area in the monogenetic volcanoes, it is possible to find vultures, skunks, armadillos, coyotes and coral snakes. The representative flora of the place is mainly made up of oaks, mullein and strawberry trees.
From Pachuca take the exit to Tulancingo until reaching Singuilucan. Before entering the town there is a detour to La Paila.
